Send 2 Summit
Adventure Duathlon
5km Prologue Mountain Run
22km Mountain Bike Ride / 1300m descent
10km Mountain Run / 1150m ascent
25 January 2025
Mount Buller, Victoria.
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
EVENT CANCELLATION
It is with a very heavy heart that we advise the disappointing news that
Send 2 Summit will no longer go ahead in January 2025.
Mount Buller Resort Management has informed us that funding for the event is no longer available due to budget cuts impacting the resort under the direction of Alpine Resorts Victoria Board (ARV / www.alpineresorts.vic.gov.au), which manages all mountain resorts in Victoria.
From Mount Buller management: “ARV has advised that it is no longer in a position to support the event financially, which means the event will no longer be part of Buller’s summer calendar. We thank everyone for their support.”
All current entrants have been fully refunded and the entry system has been closed.
Send2Summit has since inception been a Buller-owned event operated under service contract by Tour de Trails. In essence it was conceived as an experience that highlighted the mountain’s core (awesome!) ‘Green Season’ offering – trails – specifically trail running and mountain biking. Mount Buller funded it as an experience attractor and marketing exercise.
We apologise to all current entrants and to those who planned to enter and had blocked the weekend out on their adventure calendar. We encourage you to still head to the mountain and undertake the same adventure, a bigger one, or a smaller one, on the Australia Day long weekend.
We remain committed to the fact that Mount Buller is one of the best summer adventure destinations for trail junkies in summer and shoulder seasons, given the cooler temperatures at altitude, the serenity of the mountains and its crowd-free, relaxed atmosphere.
Check out the new Rockwire Via Ferrata experience, or lock into some mountain biking with hire from Blue Dirt or All Terrain Cycles.
To complete the S2S loop independently, you can book a bike hire return via Blue Dirt (and then run back up the ascent course – we did exactly this on our original recce. Do what we did – have a coffee and chips as a mid-adventure refuel at the Mirimbah Café!)
Tour de Trails’ next event will be Hut 2 Hut incorporating Oscars 100, Archie 50 and Bella 10 – also held on Mount Buller on 14-16 February.
And then Warburton Trail Fest 8-10 March.
Rest assured those events will 100% proceed as they do not rely on external funding!
The Tour de Trails team gives thanks to you for your understanding and gives thanks to Mount Buller Management for their ongoing support in general of adventure pursuits on their mountain.

MTB
THE DROP. THE BOMB. THE SEND.
Whatever you call it, it’s gonna blow your lid.
The second stage of Send 2 Summit.
Some may say the easiest…I mean, a 22km roll down a mount, right? Wrong. There’s a smidge - and we mean only a smidge - of climbing, but there’s plenty to test the skillz and the lactic threshold in your thighs as you plummet down the mountain, diving front wheel first (we hope) down the legendary Delatite.
Swoopy curves. Some techy trail. Hold on. Bridge crossings (don’t look down - concentrate now). Feel the burn. And splashdown at Mirimbah Picnic Ground. Ride leg-only participants can pass the baton to their run leg team mate who will run to the summit while you enjoy a beer.
For those tough-as duathletes taking on the entire course solo, suck it up cause that massive descent you just blew down? Now you gotta climb it, using two legs instead of two wheels, swapping the plummet for the summit.
Go climb it, baby! All 1000m plus!
TRAIL RUN
THE GRUNT. THE GRIND.
THE PINNACLE PUSH.
Whatever you call it, it’s gonna blow your legs ‘n lungs.
The third leg of Send 2 Summit.
Some may say it’s the toughest…I mean, a 1150 metre climb up the north flank of a serious mountain, right? No denying it’s a leg-belter. A quad crusher.
But damn she’s a beautiful slice of singletrack up Klingsporn and then there’s the rigght hand surprise where we turn you up the North Ridge, a razorback of running goodness, a stairway to singletrack heaven, if you will.
You’ll push to the summit of Mount Buller, eye-popping views on your shoulder and greeted by that sweet summit cairn that confirms you have earned your bragging rights.
So…climb it, baby! All 1150m plus!
